Tech Tips: Don't Forget to Save!

Let’s say you’re drafting your annual family holiday letter, where you list everything you and your kids have done and accomplished all year long. You’ve used lots of fun fonts, and inserted pictures, and it looks great. You’ve spent hours making sure the letter is perfect and ready to print when the unimaginable happens—

The dog is chewing on your computer cable, and kills the power to your laptop.

Oh no! Crazy dog.

When you finally get the computer back on, your letter, sadly, is nowhere to be found. Just think—all that work down the drain.

Drat.

One simple trick will save you from that heartache. As you work in any application, it’s a good idea to save your work as you go. Get into the habit of hitting the Control key together with the S key every 10-15 minutes. Whenever you come back to your letter, it will be there waiting just as you left it the last time you worked on it.
