Q. What is email spam?
A. Email spam, also known as junk e-mail, involves messages that are sent to numerous recipients through email whether the person has requested it or not.
Q. How can I avoid spam?
A. The best way to avoid spam is to refrain from giving your email address away. There are a lot of websites that require you to provide an email address when you sign up. Only submit your email address when you absolutely need to. You may also create a junk e-mail address that can be designated for this particular situation.
Q. How can I protect my accounts from being compromised?
A. It's all about having a good password. I would recommend that you keep a different password for various Internet accounts, instead of having just one password that is used for all accounts. For instance, if you use the same password for your email account as you do for your online bank account. If your email password is compromised, someone could also have access to your bank account.
Q. How do I get rid of spam?
A. Every spam or unwanted email that you receive is required to have a link at the bottom which allows you to unsubscribe from the sender's list. When you receive an email that you don’t want, go to the bottom of the email and read the fine print for a place where you can unsubscribe by following the instructions. By doing so, they are required by law to remove your email from the list.
Q. What should I do if I followed these suggestions and I'm still having problems with spam?
A. Along with repairing computers, Bask technicians are available to remove and prevent spam on your computer. We offer a free diagnosis to determine your computer problems and connect remotely to repair the issues.
